This rice cooker looks good and is a perfect size. Unfortunately one of the main pieces came bent and I think that it may effect the quality of the product over time.

Style: With a Steamer

I am trying to eat rice other than Minute Rice. I have just always found it so difficult to do successfully and I am impatient, too. This is absolutely simple and my jasmine rice turned out perfect. I especially like the feature to keep it warm so I don't have to keep an eye on it. The pot washes up really easily, too. I like to make stir fries and serve it over rice so I will be using it for that the most.

My primary purpose in obtaining it is to cook rice. I'm hopeful that I can convince my husband to make healthier (brown?) rice swiftly in lieu of his favorite usual, the ersatz Minute Rice. However, according to the enclosed instructions, we can do much more than cook rice with this little pot; we then may end up sending it off with a college dorm-aimed child this fall.
We'll have to play with it first to see what all it can do, but certainly starting with...cooking some rice!
Updating with photos now that we've used it:
1. I swear I read--maybe on the box??--that we'd have rice in ten minutes.
2. We did not have rice in ten minutes. In fact, in ten minutes we could not tell that anything was happening but for the pot to be warming, though the cooker did indeed read "Cook" in the window (that has just two settings, "Cook" and "Warm," to which it is to move, itself, and with a beep, once the cooking of the rice is complete.
3. I believe it took an hour.
4. The rice--I used brown--was DELICIOUS when it was finally finished! Oh, my goodness would I have loved to have that with our meal. Instead I was stuffed with the Minute Rice my husband whipped up to accompany the garlic shrimp and steamed broccoli.
5. Now I had oodles of leftover cooked rice. What to do?! SEE PHOTOS: make yummy rice pudding with cinnamon and nutmeg and cardamom...and add raisins (and egg, milk, a bit of sugar...I mean: I followed6a recipe).
6. Next time I'll know to allow more time. I think this is a great rice cooker!

The best thing I like is the two cooking bowl including one non stick. I have tried rice, khichdi, biriyani, chole, vegetables fry, omelette, boiled egg, boiled vegetables, aloo tikki, soup, kheer.
Pros: 1. It prepares rice perfectly.
2. Steamer is good to steam vegetables, egg without any hassle.
3. Non stick cooking bowl is really good.
Cons. : 1. Unexpectedly warm/cook switch shifts and you've to use jugaad hack to press or put weight over lid to shift to cooking mode.
2. Very slow cooking and uneven heating (could have been improved)
What you need: Patience and little extra time to cook your food with fun so as to avoid outside food while you are alone and eat self cooked healthy food. It's a slow cooking method and not to expect quick food preparation except rice.
